A Clinical Study of Sulperazon(sulbactam/cefoperazone) in the Treatment of Orthopaedic Infections

Abstract
|
|
|
The clinical efficacy of Sulperazon in the treatment of pyogenic bone and joint infections was evaluated in 20 patients who was admitted and treated in the department of orthopaedic surgery, Won-Kwang university hospital from September :1988 to December 1990.
The results were as follows
1. The bacteriologic- sensitivity test was revealed 19 cases(95%) in sensitive and the overall clinical effectiveness was excellent in 40 percent, good in 45%, and fair in 15%.
2. There was abdominal side effects in 3 cases and itching in 1 case, but it was transient and tolerable.
3. Sulperazon seems an efficient and safe antibiotics for the treatment of infectious disease in orthopaedic fields.
